Not a Bug - Description Box
« on: February 21, 2013, 12:01:19 PM »
Is it possible to enable  the processing of  content plugins in the description box?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

I've tried to use the geshi plugin (enables syntax highlighting in articles) that comes with Joomla with a description of an item within RSGallery2, that did not work.

At the moment I don't see if or how the use of content plugins could be made working with RSGallery2. Sorry.
With a babyboy in the house I don't spend as much time on RSG2 as before. I still like RSG2, if you do too, please think about how you can invest some of your time in RSG2...

Thamk you for the fast reply. What I need to be able to do is to allow website visitors to purchase images and be able to download them or have them emailed to them. Does anyone know of products that will work with RSGallery2 ?

I wonder if it wouldn't be better to find a Joomla extension that is made with the purpose of selling downloadable files/images? Such an extension may be a lot better in "securing" your files so that people won't be able to access an image if they "guessed" the filename.

What I mean is this: at http://demo.rsgallery2.nl/index.php/demo-rsgallery2/4-third-gallery you see images like test_150x150-1  where the filename of the thum image is test_150x150-1.jpg.jpg and it is found on the webserver at http://demo.rsgallery2.nl/images/rsgallery/thumb/test_150x150-1.jpg.jpg so people may know that the original is found at http://demo.rsgallery2.nl/images/rsgallery/original/test_150x150-1.jpg. RSG2 can sort of get around this by using watermarked images, however, there are Joomla extensions built to avoid users accessing image files directly. What I'm thinking of is this possibility that Phoca Gallery has: http://www.phoca.cz/documents/17-phoca-download-component/223-saving-files-outside-publichtml-folder (and RSGallery2 does not have).

I'd start by reviewing shop extensions like VirtueMart and extensions found here: http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/e-commerce/shopping-cart; and download extensions like shown here: http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/directory-a-documentation/downloads.

Thank you for your reply. I liked RSGallery2 but you are right. You can mark this thread closed.
