Commercial use?
« on: July 07, 2012, 06:08:22 PM »
Hello,
Is the RSGallery2 Component free for commercial use - that is, for my band's page?
I'm terribly sorry if this questions is answered elsewhere. I tried searching the forums for the answer but to no avail.

Many thanks,
Ziggy

RSGallery2 is a free (non-commercial) Joomla extension maintained by volunteers. So yes you can use it on your commercial website.

On http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/photos-a-images/photo-gallery/142, as well as in the RSGallery2 files, you can find that it's released under the license "GPLv2 or later". The "GNU GPL" link in RSGallery2's Control Panel leads to http://www.gnu.org/copyleft/gpl.html.
Suddenly on maternity leave: our baby boy was born a few weeks early, he's doing well now.
For the next couple of weeks I won't available, for true emergences pm locutusweb please.

I hope that RSGallery2 users will help each other out in the mean time.

Thanks. I'm just never sure what this GPL business means. Sometimes you see something that's non-commercial under this licence but in the T&C it states that it's for non-commercial use only.
