Password on some gallery
« on: November 13, 2008, 10:26:29 AM »
Hi to all!

I've load RSgallery2 on my Joomla 1.5.7 and I've made a lot of gallery.

Can I protect one gallery with a password? I need one password for every gallery that I must protect.

There is some plugin for RSgallery or I need another extensions?

Sorry for my poor english, thank you very much!

I have a simmilar issue.

I've managed to restrict acces via my menu's.
But in the gallery overview the gallery I wanted password protected still shows without any acces limitation.

Anyone who can resolve my problem with an answer?

In Joomla 1.5 there are the groups Public, Registered and Special which are much more flexible in Joomla 1.6 with the 'Viewing Access Levels' (the possibilitiy to have more groups than these three: http://docs.joomla.org/Help16:Users_Access_Levels).

RSGallery2s latest versions 2.2.1 and 3RC1 do not use these Access Levels, but I want to implement it in 3.x. The coding-part works similarly to the Permissions in Joomla 1.6 (you can set who can upload, delete, publish, etc.) and that was a lot of work to get working in J!1.6, so I expect that getting Access Levels in 3.x will be a lot of work as well... so it won't be there soon (unfortunately).

So at this point: No, you cannot protect one gallery with a password (or with Access Levels).
Suddenly on maternity leave: our baby boy was born a few weeks early, he's doing well now.
For the next couple of weeks I won't available, for true emergences pm locutusweb please.

I hope that RSGallery2 users will help each other out in the mean time.
