Can not change any settings in the control panel - Save don't work

Hi there,
I installed RS latest version - worked smoothly - and try to configure the settings in the control panel. Such as 'Display random, Display Branding, etc.'
Hitting the Save/Save and exit button has no effect what so ever.
Have all the permissions on '../administrator/components/com_rsgallery2/options' wide open (777).
I suppose that's where this stuff get's written into, right?
What am I missing?
Help is highly appreciated.

I should add that I'm running Joomla! 2.5.4 and RS 3.1.0 (SVN 1061)

With which browser does this happen? Does it also happen on other browsers you use?
You mention that the buttons in the Configuration don't work (Save, Save & Close, Cancel and Help), do the toolbar buttons in other screens, for example when you create a gallery, work or not?

Some info: The values of the Configuration get written to the database: table jos_rsgallery2_config (where the prefix is jos_), not to one of the files.

Sorry, about not providing the proper info from the beginning. I added what I think is good at the end of this message.

It works on IE 8!!!

Why didn't I come up myself with the idea using a different browser?
THE rule #1 if something doesn't work - Try different browser!
Shame-shame-shame on me. Embarrassing!
I was never here and we never talked! Can we agree on that?

But maybe there's an issue still. Maybe you want to check it.
Here's whats happening - or not happening.
FF 11
The buttons (Save, Save & Close, Cancel and Help) in the control panel don't work.
The expected 'Configuration saved' message does not appear. Simply nothing happens when I click any of these buttons.
The other toolbar buttons work as they should. I can create galleries, etc.
This happens on both FF11 installations @work and home.
IE 8
Everything works smoothly

Don't be too hard on yourself... System Details and changing browsers are pieces of information that tend to give away clues as to where a problem might originate from. That's why I keep asking for those ;-)

Having said that, I don't understand why the buttons Save, Save & Close, Cancel and Help in the Configuration (I think that your underlined "control panel" is a typo?) don't work and the rest do work...

You say it happens with FF11 and not with IE8. That's a clue. My test system works with FF12. I've seen toolbarbuttons not working before and that was a browser problem, although with a different browswer. That had something to do with Mootools/javascript.

The Configuration loads an editor. Could you, on a hunch, set the editor for your user to no to use an editor (Backend > Users > User Manager > [Edit your user] > Setting: Editor = "Editor - None")? Or a different editor? I'm using JCE 2.0.0RC2, what are the editors that you can try?
