Author Topic: RSGallery 3.1 - How do you delete comments from the gallery  (Read 367 times)

I am a novice to all of this but I have installed RSGallery 3.1 and I was wondering how an administrator can edit or delete the "comments" for the gallery pictures. These are the "comments" that a user can enter(similar to the voting tab). The backend interface gives you the ability to turn comments on or off but it doesnt appear to give you the ability to delete comments. Is there a file directory I can delete or is there another method I can use? Any help is appreciated.

Comments can be deleted in the frontend, per comment, when you're logged in as an administrator. View the image with the comment that you want deleted and you'll notice a delete comment link.

It's not an ideal solution. Other feature requests/bug fixes have taken priority over implementing a backend comment managing system the past time.

For the next couple of weeks I won't available, for true emergences pm locutusweb please.

That did not work for me. I did not see any link from the front end to delete a comment. I do not have log in access to my website so how do I log in as the admin from the front end? Is there something in the permissions settings on the backend.

I had got some spam in multiple comments and want to delete them. Is there a file that I can delete?

Need some help. Thanks.

Okay, it did not work because you did not login in the frontend. You do need permission to login in the frontend (Joomla 2.5.x) but as a Super Administrator you automatically have that. You can check it in the Backend > Site > Global Configuration > Permissions, that shows all usergroups. Users belonging to a usergroup that has "Site Login" access can login in the frontend.

You can create a module for the frontend of the type "Login" (which is probably already available but just not enabled). However, you don't need the module, you can use a URL.

On Joomla 2.5 add this to the URL:
/index.php?option=com_users&view=login
So you'd get http://joomla.org/index.php?option=com_users&view=login

So the first thing you try is the URL (with your domain)  ;)
