xxRSGallery2 Single Image Display plugin is now available for Joomla 2.5!

February 19, 2012, 04:38:07 PM by mirjam | Views: 1379 | Comments: 0

The RSGallery2 Single Image Display plugin is now available for Joomla 2.5! And the plugin has two additions: the ability to use Joomla Modal popup and the option to clear floats after the image.

Download version 3.0 for Joomla 2.5 in the Files section at JoomlaCode (look for plg_rsg2_singledisplay) and Enjoy!

Notes RSGallery2 Single Image Display plugin
This plugin will replace {rsg2_singledisplay: imageid, size, caption, format, clearfloat} in
articles with the corresponding RSGallery2 image.

  • imageid: Backend > Components > RSGallery2 > Items: use the number from the ID column (required).
  • size: thumb, display or original (optional, default is display).
  • caption: true (use the item desciption as a caption) or false (no caption) (optional, default is false).
  • format: text-align style property (optional)
  • clearfloat: both, left, right or false: when not set to false this inserts a div CSS element after the image with clear property both, left or right (optional, default is false)

Examples:
{rsg2_singledisplay:9999,thumb,true,left;float:left, left}
{rsg2_singledisplay:2,display,false,right, float:right, both}
{rsg2_singledisplay:42}.

Plugin Options
Different 'popup' options are available: no popup, use of Link and Link Text (which are parameters of the item), normal popup, Joomla modal and Highslide.

Important note on the Highslide effect:
Highslide JS is an image, media and gallery viewer written in JavaScript (see http://highslide.com). The Highslide JS for Joomla plugin (available at http://joomlanook.com) eposes all of the flexibility of Highslide JS through a clear and concise configuration screen. To use the Highslide effect with this RSGallery2 Single Image Display plugin you need to have the Highslide JS for Joomla plugin installed and enabled!
NOTE: If you intend to use Highslide JS on a commercial website you MUST purchase a license from the author of Highslide JS. Please go to http://highslide.com/ for more details.

xxRSGallery2 3.1.0 for Joomla 2.5 and 1.7 is released!

January 24, 2012, 05:51:32 PM by mirjam | Views: 1817 | Comments: 0

Hello all,

We are proud to release RSGallery2 3.1.0 (for Joomla! 2.5.x and 1.7.x).

Note: This version will replace 3.0.1 which does not work on Joomla 2.5.x due to a backwards compatibility issue.

Major changes
  • Added View Access Level to galleries
    • Galleries in the frontend are only shown 1) if the gallery is published and the user has view access, or 2) if the user is the owner of the gallery (a red H icon will indicate unpublished galleries).
    • Items (e.g. images) in the frontend are only shown 1) if the gallery to which they belong to is published and the user has view access for the gallery, or 2) if the user is the owner of the gallery to which the item belongs and the item is published.
    • In My Galleries only those items and galleries are shown for which the user has View Access. Exception: Super Administrators see all items and galleries.
    • Note: View Access is not 'inherited': If you're not allowed to see gallery Fruit, then you won't see its subgallery Apples even when you have View Access to that gallery (if there is a menu-item linking directly to the subgallery Apples it will show, it's parent View Access does not matter).
  • Comment and Vote permission can be set per usergroup and per gallery.
Comment and vote permission is no longer set in the Control Panel > Configuration > tab: Images > Commenting/Voting enabled, but in the Permission settings: Options button for the component and Set Permission button per gallery when editing a gallery (added message upon upgrade about this).
  • Captcha option for commenting on images: now uses Securimage 3.0 by Drew Philips (www.phpcaptcha.org) and not the SecurityImages component.
  • Added the possibility of using parameters in Slideshow Parth (template parameters will be saved in future RSGallery2 upgrades). Think of slideshow transition effects, setting background and text colors and setting the size of the slideshow.  Instructions:
    • Go to the frontend and view a slideshow (this creates a params.ini file in the slideshow parth template directory, only when this file exists (and is writable) you can save your settings).
    • View settings: Backend > Components > RSGallery2 > Control Panel > Template Manager > Manage > select: Slideshow_Parth > click: Edit.
    • Edit settings and click Save.
  • Added choice for menu-item that links directly to the slideshow.
  • Fixed meta description and page title.

Maintenance
  • Fixed one Backwards Compatibility issue for Joomla! 2.5. The Joomla! team has done a really great job in making Joomla 2.5 backwards compatible with respect to 1.6 and 1.7. However, there are a few Backwards Compatibility issues and one of them does affect RSGallery2 3.0.1.
  • Created sliders for Configuration’s tab Images.
  • Removed some unused settings in the Configuration.
  • Moved Configuration setting FTP Path to Image Upload section and corrected base path information.
  • Upon Save in Configuration now using Joomla messages instread of RSG2 printAdminMsg
  • New gallery saves by default to first position, text describing this in Gallery New screen was wrong.

Language
  • Added full italian (it-IT) translation available thanks to user Scioz.
  • Corrected missing language strings showing in pagination when you have a paginated list of galleries in the front-end.
  • Hardcoded textstring “(ex. C:\ffmpeg\ffmpeg.exe)” now translatable.
  • Removed directory preparedLanguages.

See the changelog for all the changes and bugfixes and feel free to report any bugs or problems in the forum.

Edit 24 January 2012
RSGallery2 3.0.1 will not work in Joomla 2.5 due to a backwards compatibility issue. We plan on releasing RSGallery2 3.1.0 as soon as Joomla 2.5.0 is released and 3.1.0 is tested on Joomla 2.5.0.
In the mean time, for those interested and only for testing purposes there is an RSGallery2 Nightly Build available that is tested and does work with Joomla 2.5 beta1, beta2 en RC1.
